Bridging the Gap: Providing temporary contacts for alcoholics being released from institutions

Bridging The Gap is a program designed to provide that essential link between treatment and recovery. The A.A Treatment Center Committee partners men and women, with at least a year or more of continuous sobriety, and who are willing to be a temporary guide to the program with patients just leaving an institution. The temporary contacts will take the newcomer to a few meetings, introduce them to fellow members of A.A. and insure that he or she has the phone numbers of several A.A. members. Our goal is to make the newcomers feel comfortable with A.A. and help them build a support system that is critical to sobriety. To contact the “Bridging the Gap” representative in your district call 1-800-449-1359 or to volunteer, fill out the form below and email to btg@ct-aa.org.

Mission Statement
The A.A. Treatment Center committee cooperates with many institutions throughout the state of Connecticut by arranging meetings and the resources to conduct meetings at detoxification units and hospitals. Meetings are chaired and run by individual A.A.’s and A.A. Groups. The committee also purchases and distributes A.A. literature for the patients at these institutions. Individual A.A. members or groups interested in sponsoring meetings can fill out the form on this page and email the Treatment Center Committee at candt@ct-aa.org.
